# Neonatal Care

### Overview

The registrations captured in the field by BabyID automatically reach SMART and enter the "Civil Case List", along with cases from the other sources. From here, the case proceeds to printing the CIN.

Before that, each BabyID case goes through the **biographical review**, described on this page. In the biographical review, the case is opened, the documents photographed by the field operator are read, and the citizen's data are checked field by field. What is missing is filled in, what is wrong is corrected. At the end, the case is accepted or rejected.

### Finding the cases coming from BabyID

The list starts empty. You need to apply a filter for the list to show anything. Until there is a filter, the screen shows "Apply a filter to list cases".

1. In the top menu, open "Civil Cases" and go to the civil cases list.
2. In the "Creation source" filter, choose "BabyID".
3. Click "Filter".

The list now shows only the cases created by BabyID.

**To narrow it down further**, combine it with the other filters before clicking "Filter":

* **"From" and "To"**: the creation period, in dd/mm/yyyy format. The "✕" beside it clears the dates.
* **"Protocol"**: the case number, when already known.
* **"CPF"**: in the 999.999.999-99 format.
* **"RG"**.
* **"Service Point"** and **"Pickup Point"**: choose from the list.
* **"Status"**: choose from the list.

{% hint style="info" %}
**The filter is only applied when you click "Filter".** Changing a field and not clicking does not change the list.
{% endhint %}

***

### Open the biographical review

* In the list, select the case you are going to review.
* Click the orange "Biographical review" button.
* The "Neonatal Care - BabyID" screen opens.

Next to it there is the red "Cancel case" button.

{% hint style="danger" %}
"Cancel case" ends the case and is not part of the review. Only use it if that is really your intention. To review, the button is the orange one.
{% endhint %}

### The "Neonatal Care - BabyID" screen

The screen is divided into two halves.

<figure><img src="https://3757157672-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F7Bx0xNdsdGHpCZ20yxbn%2Fuploads%2Fw2nOSOOvn687RhFgsZKw%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=bf92a815-bca0-4441-b1c8-4c393b3f2461" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**On the left**, the form with the case data. This is where the data are read, corrected, and filled in.

**On the right**, the documents captured in BabyID. This is the source of the information.

#### **“Personal information” section**

Fields reviewed and edited on this screen, in the order they appear:

1. **"Citizen's CPF"**
2. **"Guardian's CPF"**
3. **"Name"**
4. **"Social Name"**
5. **"Sex"**: list of options
6. **"Affiliation 1"**
7. **"Affiliation 2"**
8. **"Affiliation 3"**
9. **"Affiliation 4"**
10. **"Date of Birth"**

#### **The document panel, on the right**

The panel shows the image of the document, with a scroll bar to move through the entire page.

* **"Source document (certificate/decree)"**: the birth certificate or the baby's decree.
* **"When a minor - parent's document"**: the guardian's document.

Click the title of each one to open and close the corresponding panel.

### Doing the review step by step

1. **Open the source document** in the right-hand panel. Scroll until you can see the fields on the certificate.
2. **Check the "Name"** against the name shown on the certificate. Correct it if it is different.
3. **Check the "Date of Birth"** against the date shown on the certificate.
4. **Check the "Sex"** against what is shown on the certificate. Adjust it using the list if necessary.
5. **Fill in the affiliations.** Read the parents' names on the certificate and type them in "Affiliation 1", "Affiliation 2", and so on, as applicable.
6. **Check the CPFs.** Compare "Citizen's CPF" and "Guardian's CPF" with each one's "RFB" line.
7. **Open "When a minor - parent's document"** and check the guardian's data against that document.
8. **Review the entire screen** before finishing. Scroll through the form from top to bottom and verify that no required field was left blank.
9. **Click "Accept"**, in the bottom-right corner.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Type exactly what is on the document.** Accents, compound names, and abbreviated surnames make a difference in the next steps. If in doubt between the reading and what was already filled in, the document prevails.
{% endhint %}

### Complete the review

At the bottom of the screen there are four actions. They do different things:

| Button | Where it is | What it does |
| ------------------- | ------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **"Accept"** | Blue, bottom-right corner | Completes the review with the data on the screen. |
| **"Reject"** | Red, next to "Accept" | Rejects the case. |
| **"Cancel"** | Bottom-left corner | Closes the review screen and returns to the case screen. |
| **"Clear changes"** | Below the form | Undoes what you typed and returns the fields to their original values. |

**When to use each one:**

* The data match the documents and the required fields are filled in: **"Accept"**.
* The documents are illegible, missing, or do not match the case: **"Reject"**.
* The open case is the wrong one, or you need to leave without finishing: **"Cancel"**.
* You need to restart the review from scratch: **"Clear changes"**.

**"Clear changes" deletes all edits from this session** at once, without asking for confirmation. Use only to restart.

{% hint style="warning" %}
**"Cancel" closes without finishing.** What was typed and not saved is lost. If there are many edits, complete the review instead of canceling.
{% endhint %}

### Frequently asked questions

**I filtered by "BabyID" and no cases appeared. What happened?**\
**A:** Check whether the "Filter" button was clicked after choosing the source. If it was, check whether some other filter is restricting too much, such as dates in "From" and "To", a specific "Status", or a service point. Clear the others and filter again by source only.

**The "RFB" line has "-" in almost all fields. Is that wrong?**\
**A:** Not necessarily. The "-" means the Federal Revenue Service did not return that data. In that case, the review is done using the document on the screen, which is the source.

**The CPF in the field is different from the number on the certificate. Which one counts?**\
**A:** The document. Correct the field to what is written on the certificate.

**The document image is small or cut off. How do I read it?**\
**A:** Use the panel scroll bar to move through the page. If you still can't read it safely, don't guess: consider rejecting the case because the document is illegible.

**Do I need to fill in all four affiliations?**\
**A:** No. Fill in the ones that exist in the case, in order, and leave the others blank.

**The case does not have a DNV. Can I continue?**\
**A:** Yes. The case needs a Birth Certificate and a CPF to proceed. When the Birth Certificate is issued, the DNV should be retained, so it is expected that cases do not have a DNV.

**What is the difference between "Cancel", "Cancel case", and "Reject"?**\
**A:** "Cancel" only closes the review screen. "Reject" is a decision about the case, made within the review. "Cancel case" is on the previous screen, ends the case, and is not part of the review.

**I made several mistakes. How do I go back to the original state?**\
**A:** Click "Clear changes". The fields go back to the values that came from BabyID and the review restarts.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.griaule.com/gbs/en/applications/smart/neonatal-care.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
