SmartSense
Introduction
The GBS SmartSense is a web application to monitor GBDS clusters, allowing the user to view live reports of the environment's performance and health.
This manual is updated for SmartSense version 1.2.4.
Access and Authentication
GBS SmartSense must be accessed with a web browser and we recommend Google Chrome. The access URL is specific to each environment. If necessary, contact Griaule support to obtain the correct URL.
Authentication is required to access the application. The credentials required for GBS SmartSense are username and password.

At the bottom of the screen there is an option to change the user interface language. This option is also available in settings after login.
Two-factor Authentication (2FA)
When two-factor authentication (2FA) is enabled, the first time you log in, after entering your username and password, a QR Code will be displayed that must be registered in Google Authenticator.

After successfully registering the QR Code in Google Authenticator, enter the six-digit code generated and click Submit.
You will only need to register the QR Code once. But for each subsequent login, you will need to enter the six-digit code generated by Google Authenticator.

There is a limited number of unsuccessful login attempts a user can make. Whenever an incorrect code is entered, an error message will be displayed:

If you reach the maximum number of unsuccessful login attempts, your account will be automatically locked.

If your account is locked, contact the system administrator.
Simultaneous Logins and Browser Registration
Only one session per user is allowed. It is not possible to log in simultaneously with the same profile more than once in the application. If a user is already connected and another access occurs using the same username and password, the user with the older session will be notified and disconnected on the next action.

Additionally, only one browser can be used at a time. When attempting to log in using a different browser, the user will be informed that it is necessary to authenticate the new browser. Authenticating a new browser will revoke access from the previous browser.

To authenticate a new browser, click Authenticate and then enter the verification code that will be sent to the email linked to the user's account.

If authentication is successful, a notification will appear in the upper right corner of the screen after login.

Reset Password
You can reset your password if you forget it.
To reset your password, on the login screen click Forgot your password?:

Then enter the profile username and click Submit.

An email containing a verification code will be sent to the email address linked to that profile. Enter the verification code and click Submit code.

If the code is correct, you will be able to create a new password. Enter the new password twice. Make sure to meet the password requirements; they are listed below the new password field and will turn green when met. Finally, to confirm the reset, click Reset password.

User Interface
There are six screens that can be accessed using the sidebar: Node List, Configuration Comparison, Port Sweep, Transaction History, Queue and Transaction List.

Node List
The Node List screen shows information about available storage space, RAM, temperature, number of matchers and status for each host/IP.

To refresh the displayed information, use the refresh button or reload the page by pressing Ctrl/Command + R on the keyboard.

In the upper right corner, it is possible to filter the displayed information by hostname or IP address:

To create a new node without accessing the database directly, click the New Node button in the lower right corner. Enter the hostname, IP, and port information. Then mark whether it is a Active. Finally, click Add Node.
The status Active means that the node will be analyzed and shown in SmartSense.

The hostname identifies the node and must be unique. Trying to create a new node with the same hostname as an existing node will overwrite the existing node.
Node Details
Click an item in the Node List to open the Node Details screen, which shows detailed information about the services running on that node (tab Services) and its hardware resources (tab Resources). In both tabs, it is possible to refresh the displayed information by clicking the refresh button located in the upper right corner of the screen.
Services Tab:
The Services tab shows the services running on the node, with their respective ports and their statuses.

Resources Tab:
The Resources shows information about the node's hardware, such as disk usage, RAM usage, throughput, etc.

Configuration Comparison
The Configuration Comparison allows the user to select a configuration file and a reference node to compare its configurations with all other nodes. Divergent configurations are shown in red.

To select a configuration file, click the dropdown menu and choose a file from the list.

Then, to select a node, click the dropdown menu and choose a node from the list.

It is possible to remove rows from the table by clicking the X located on the left side of each row. This option simply removes the row from the view; no configuration file is modified.

To restore the original list with all rows, check the option Show all rows.

It is possible to filter the results and show only the columns with nodes that have different configurations. To do this, check the option Show only nodes with differences.
Port Sweep
The Port Sweep allows the user to select an IP and specific ports to perform a port sweep on all hosts and display the results in a table:

To select an IP, click the dropdown menu and choose an IP address.

Ports can be selected as a list of ports separated by commas (e.g. 8000, 8080, 8125); as a range, with the upper and lower limits separated by a hyphen (e.g. 8005-8015); or as a combination of both (e.g. 8005-8015, 8080).

After selecting an IP and the ports, click the Filter button, located in the upper right corner of the screen to perform the port sweep.
Transaction History
The Transaction History shows usage in bar charts (histogram type), created with Kibana. There are five tabs: Identify, Identify (Latent), Verify, Enroll and Update. In each tab, it is possible to interact with the chart, for example, placing the cursor over a bar to show the number of operations or clicking and dragging the cursor over some bars to zoom into that range. At the top of the chart, it is possible to add filters to customize how the information is displayed.

For this function, ELK must be properly installed and configured. In addition, the following parameters must be present in config.properties:
Queue
The Queue shows the current queue of transactions listed by priority.

The list is continuously updated and the refresh interval can be adjusted using the menu dropdown located in the upper right corner of the screen:

It is possible to display the queue for the entire cluster or for a reference node. To choose a node, click the menu dropdown located at the top of the screen and select a node:

Transaction List
The Transaction List shows a list of transactions processed in a given period of time.
When opening the page, transactions performed in the last hour of the current date will be displayed.
To show transactions performed in a different time range, select a date, a start time and an end time. Then click the Filter button.

It is also possible to filter transactions by PGUID, TGUID, label, key and biographic. To do this, use the menu dropdown located in the upper right corner of the screen to select the filter type, fill in the Value field and click the Filter button.
For detailed information about a transaction, click an item in the list to display the Transaction details:

It is possible to download the biometric data of the transaction. To do this, click the Download button, located in the upper right corner of the screen. The ZIP file for download will contain the biometric images as well as the templates.
For more information about the transaction status, hover over View details on the right side of the screen, in the Problems.
